Anyone who has been around the past year knows this upcoming weeks challenge is the 1 year anniversary of Sunday Stills. So I figure we should do the very first challenge we did on December 6th 2008. We started with only a few contributors and have grown into a nice little community of bloggers which I’m proud to be part of.
Here is to another year of fun….Ed
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY STILLS…AND ED, TOO!
I appreciate the opportunity I’ve had to participate this year and am thankful to Ed for coming up with all these great photography challenges each week. They encourage me to pay attention to the world around me and to hone my observation and photography skills, too.
Looking back in my archives I realized that I’ve posted 34 Sunday Stills Challenges. My first Sunday Stills post was on April 4th, 2009 for Animal Husbandry.
I can’t wait to see what next year’s challenges are!

I’m so glad I had Ed look at Linda’s blog (Just Another Day on the Prairie) as she was the one who got Ed interested in blogging. Thanks Linda. Ed youve done a super job this year, and have allowed us to make many new friends. Heres to another wonderful year.

This has been an amazing opportunity and community as you all have already said.
I would like to make a suggestion to all (this is where my school artsy side comes out) but I believe art should be about critiquing in order to become better artists or in this case photographers.
I hope we can all use this community to share not only our photos but our though and constructive criticism to make our next photos a tad bid different, with some new knowledge about photography, and with a whole new risk we would have never taken.
Thanks Ed and thanks to all for all the hard work and continue enjoying photography!

Happy Anniversary! This has been a fun way to expand my skills and meet like-minded folks. Ed, you’ve been a wonderful host!!!
Postscript: After a cozy evening spent by the fire with my camera (wish I could have captured this happy photo), and a night sealed in a plastic baggie with all the silica gel packages I could pilfer from our shoe boxes, and some Rainsorb (used in horticulture as soil-less potting medium) for good measure thrown in, the last bit of moisture I was seeing in the display screen has completely disappeared! Whew! Back to normal!
Who knew that perhaps my greatest contribution to SS to date was going to be how to bake a camera! LOL! Anyway, should any of you find yourself in a similar situation one day at least you now know it can be done!

When I got my new Camera last summer, I created a blog just for my Photography.. and wanted to find some Photo Themes to participate in. This was one of the first I found, and with Macro Mondays certainly is my favorite.

Congratulations on a successful website Ed. You hit a home run with Sunday Stills. I’ve been remiss a couple of times not posting. I joined in just after you got started. You have consistent following and I for one have learned a ton about taking shots and learned to look at the world around me differently. Thanks Sydney for pointing me to this site. I’m looking forward to entering the challenges. My photo’s were taken on Friday. We got a new puppy. His name is Pugsley. He is 1/2 Shih Tzu, 1/2 Bichon Frise. He is 6 weeks old. Our other dog is a 15 year old Chihuahua named Puncho. Sydney named him when he was born. I have to correct people, as they always want to call him Poncho. Poncho’s are ugly scratchy blankets that you wear. He is NOT a Poncho. He is a PUNCHo. (Emphasis on a fist about to sock you in the nose.) These are Sydneys own words, well a bit paraphrased, but you get the drift. He’s got attitude, just like Sydney. LOL, Yes she will kill me as soon as she sees this.
