Sunday Stills the next challenge: Powerlines and Landscapes

I was attempting to photograph the sunrise this morning and would’nt ya know it the darn powerlines were everywhere, which brings us to the next challenge. If you can’t beat it use it, since power lines are a photographers worst nightmare lets use this to our advantage. So find a cool landscape, sunrise, that would look great except it needs the dreaded powerlines to mess it up, and throw in a bilboard too, they are just as bad..:-)

I’ll include a pic with this challenge so you get the idea.

Have fun…Ed

  2. Now this should be interesting!

  3. WOOOOOOWWW!!! COOOL!

  4. Oh darn, I’ll miss this one since we will be out of town – going to our granddaughters graduation party in Illinois.

  5. They are the bane of my existence and I live in the middle of nowhere…….often without power ;)

  6. I’m totally stoked for this one. Something about power lines in shots…I dig it! Must be ’cause I’m a rookie! Either way, looking forward to this one!

  7. I was just griping about powerlines yesterday to the husband. Argggg!

We have the most beautiful view of the mountains from our barn and the durned phone lines are right smack-dab in the middle of our pasture (we need to tell the company to move them — they don’t have an easment.) It drives me nuts when I see a pretty view of the sheep grazing and the mountains behind, then the lines making a mess of the whole photo. :( Funny challenge, and I should be able to come up with some good material. :D

  9. Finally got the new camera! Canon SX10 IS. Love it! Had only a day or two to play with it. Came over here to see what the challenge is & coincidentally, the first photo on my current blog (5/25/09) fits the category. I loved the looks of following the powerpoles & lines down the road…. http://www.horsetrailriders.blogspot.com .

  10. First time here and this is a hard challenge. Not exactly what it should be but close enough?

Here’s mine from my archive. Not much words as all the words are spoken when the power lines have ruined the photo.

Please note, I have mistakenly posted it on this blog instead of my older one.

    Ed,

    hope you are better.

  12. Mine are up. Posting a little early as I’ll be out all day tomorrow touring Fiber Farms. Have a beautiful Sunday everyone!!
